New Circular Connector with Push-Pull Locking Y-Circ® P
After the successful introduction of the new circular connector series Y-Circ® P with push-pull interlocking, the product range will now be successively expanded.
The new ‘WD’ socket type is a natural for back wall mounting in combination with circuit board contacts. The wall mounted socket has anti-rotation protection and a solid back stop. This can optionally be equipped with a sealing ring to permit anti-rotation protection for round holes without a flat section.
The sockets are available in three different sizes (09, 12, and 15) and can be combined with all existing pin assignments and contact types.
Like the rest of the series, this wall mounted socket is shorter than competing products, saving space in the interior of the device.
Print contacts are now available for wall-mounted sockets. They allow a PCB mounting with through-hole soldering for a safe fixation. The PCB drilling patterns are available in the PDF update of the Y-Circ P catalogue.
New Connector Types available
For backward mounting of wall mounted sockets now also the connector type “WC” is available. The fixation is done by two nuts and can therefore overcome distance differences between PCB and housing.
The new “WB” and “WR” connector types offer the possibilities of a wall feed-through connector with collet system at the end. The fixation in the housing can be done with two nuts. These types can be ordered with or without bent relief in different colors.
Y-Circ® P Product Portfolio is growing
After the successful launch of the Push-Pull circular connector series Y-Circ® P this product family is growing more and more. Now also crimp contacts are available for this Push-Pull connector series.
Yamaichi Electronics has now also started to deliver products with crimp contacts. With the special contact design we are able to combine best functionality and costs in one product. For assembling the contacts in the field a special tooling is available. Additional small tools for contact release can be used to disassemble the contacts in case of wrong assembly. USB 3.1 connectors from Yamaichi Electronics
The success story of the USB interface is still ongoing – Yamaichi Electronics introduces the first products in the USB 3.1 series.
Since the introduction of the USB interface (Universal Serial Bus) in 1996, this I/O connection has become an essential part of everyday life, industry, and many other technology-supported applications.
Over the years, the USB series has continually been upgraded with specification updates like USB 2.0, USB 3.0, and various micro and mini versions. Since 2014, the new specification in town has been 3.1.
Probably the most important general feature of the new version is the increase in transmission rate from 5 Gbps to 10 Gbps. The number of plug cycles has also been increased, from 5,000 to 10,000.
The particular novelty is a new plug form, the USB type “C”. Although to date only types A and B have been used, with a defined upper and lower side, version C is truly something new. The upper and lower sides are identical, so there is no need to pay attention to the orientation of the plug in the connection. The size of the connection has also been reduced, roughly to the dimensions of a Micro-USB type B. Type C also supports charging of batteries and the like with power levels up to 100 watts.
Yamaichi Electronics is expanding its already extensive portfolio of USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 products with the new USB series 3.1.
A standard line of types A and C are offered, both in plug and socket variants. Cable assemblies in various variants and combinations are also available.
The 9-pin version A is initially available in the TH variant. It is upwards compatible with older USB versions.
Type C is available in a combination of SMT and TH pins. This is due to the high number of contacts, with 24 pins. Since version C is not compatible with legacy USB products, Yamaichi Electronics also offers adapters from type C to type A. These adapters are also available in the form of short cable assemblies to ensure greater flexibility.
CFP4 / eQSFP+ Demo of Optical Module Connectors
Yamaichi Electronics has developed a new 28Gbps copper cable connector system with both CFP4 and QSFP28 interface. Yamaichi Electronics is a market leader of CFP4/CFP2 high speed connector products and the first company to make these connectors available to the global market.
Yamaichi is offering both active and passive copper cable solutions. The active copper cable CFP4 – QSFP28 supports a 28Gbps signal link up to 8m length at AWG26 cable and 5m length at AWG30 cable.
The signal transmission performance of the new 28Gbps active copper cable with both CFP4 and eQSFP+ interface, is being demonstrated at ECOC 2014 in Cannes, stand 163 (Yamaichi Electronics).
The demonstration is 28Gbps eye diagram and bit error rate performance on full channel link while connecting to an Altera Stratix V GT FPGA board, and loop back connection of Tx/Rx channel at the other end of the cable.
Yamaichi Electronics´ CFP4 connector which is used in this demo, and the QSFP28 connector (eQSFP+) are having a per channel signal transmission capability of 32Gbps.
The 28Gbps copper cables and connectors are being used at 100Gb Ethernet and Infiniband EDR systems all while using a 28Gbps or 25Gbps x 4 channels of signal configuration. These cables and connectors are expected to be used in future next generation 400Gb Ethernet systems as well.
Complete solutions from connectors to mechanical kits and components are provided for CFP4/CFP2/CFP which are following the MSA standards. Yamaichi also introduces QSFP connector (eQSFP+) and kit with transmission capability of 32Gbps per channel (same as for each CFP channel).
