Munich, June 2016 – Yamaichi Electronics is a market leader for CFP high-speed connectors for hot-pluggable optical transceiver form factors to enable 100Gbps applications.
As a result Yamaichi Electronics has developed a new CFP2 56Gbps host and plug connector system. It is mainly used for Analogue Coherent Optics Modules or CFP2 modules requiring reliable high-speed performance. This connector system is able to support applications using 25Gbps x 10 channels or 50Gbps x 4 channels etc.
Yamaichi Electronics is listed as an official supplier reviewing company within CFP Multi-Source Agreement (MSA). Yamaichi already launched a complete range of CFP, CFP2, CFP4 and CFP8 connector systems all following to MSA specification, and supporting major customers’ 100G components. This new CFP2 56Gbps connector is also fully designed in accordance with the MSA specification.
Comparing to general CFP2 28Gbps connectors, both insertion loss and return loss of the CFP2 56G connector are better by approximately 2db. At 28GHz, the insertion loss of CFP2 28Gbps connector is -4.5dB whereas the CFP2 56Gbps connector has only -2dB. S-parameter and all measurement reports such as insertion loss, return loss, and cross talk can be provided on request.
Mechanical features are compatible with the CFP2 28Gbps connector. Therefore the CFP2 28Gbps and 56Gbps connectors are mating-compatible. The mechanical kit of CFP2 28Gbps includes cage, connector cover, heatsink, and clip. They are applicable to be used with the CFP2 56Gbps connector.
After launching this connector, Yamaichi Electronics is now preparing to bring the CFP8 connector system for 400G applications to the market.
Read more
New products from Yamaichi 2015, get a overview here.
New Circular Connector with Push-Pull Locking Y-Circ® P
After the successful introduction of the new circular connector series Y-Circ® P with push-pull interlocking, the product range will now be successively expanded.
The new ‘WD’ socket type is a natural for back wall mounting in combination with circuit board contacts. The wall mounted socket has anti-rotation protection and a solid back stop. This can optionally be equipped with a sealing ring to permit anti-rotation protection for round holes without a flat section.
The sockets are available in three different sizes (09, 12, and 15) and can be combined with all existing pin assignments and contact types.
Like the rest of the series, this wall mounted socket is shorter than competing products, saving space in the interior of the device.
Print contacts are now available for wall-mounted sockets. They allow a PCB mounting with through-hole soldering for a safe fixation. The PCB drilling patterns are available in the PDF update of the Y-Circ P catalogue.
New Connector Types available
For backward mounting of wall mounted sockets now also the connector type “WC” is available. The fixation is done by two nuts and can therefore overcome distance differences between PCB and housing.
The new “WB” and “WR” connector types offer the possibilities of a wall feed-through connector with collet system at the end. The fixation in the housing can be done with two nuts. These types can be ordered with or without bent relief in different colors.
Y-Circ® P Product Portfolio is growing
After the successful launch of the Push-Pull circular connector series Y-Circ® P this product family is growing more and more. Now also crimp contacts are available for this Push-Pull connector series.
Yamaichi Electronics has now also started to deliver products with crimp contacts. With the special contact design we are able to combine best functionality and costs in one product. For assembling the contacts in the field a special tooling is available. Additional small tools for contact release can be used to disassemble the contacts in case of wrong assembly. Please contact your sales contact to get more information and check which variant is already available.Read more
